The original article entitled “Functional outcome of closed metacarpal shaft fractures managed by low-profile miniplate osteosynthesis: A prospective clinical study, published in Journal of Orthopaedics and Allied Sciences, on pages 63-67, Issue 2, Volume 5, 2017[1], is a duplicate publication of a similar article by the same author, published in International Journal of Orthopaedics Sciences, on pages 503-506, Issue 2, Volume 3, 2017.[2] Plagiarism, unethical publication or redundant publication violates the editorial policy of Journal of Orthopaedics and Allied Sciences, which follows best practice guidelines given by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) and Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) mentioned on the Information for Authors and as codified in the signed statements made by the authors regarding the copyright of their work. This article has been retracted as per request made by Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board of the journal.
